About the organisation
Due to increased demand, this organisation based in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay is looking for skilled and experienced AOD practitioners to join their Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service. They are currently transforming the way they deliver services, so are seeking motivated people to be part of this change – to not only complete comprehensive assessments, but also deliver intervention and support recovery.
About the Job
Working in a team that delivers alcohol & drug and mental health assessments, treatment and support to children, young people and their families you’ll be required to:
  • Use current best practises and work in partnership with individuals, families and communities encouraging people towards enhanced quality of life
  • Provide age appropriate alcohol & drug and mental health assessment, treatment interventions and support recovery using a client centred approach
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate interventions, meetings and groups, develop strategies, manage recovery coordination
  • Proactively enhance service provision by providing an AOD harm minimisation perspective as part of the wider MDT
This is a Full Time position working 80 hours per fortnight. Whilst we are looking for a permanent team member, we are also open to fixed term contracts if this is your preference.
Skills & Experience
It is essential that you are a motivated team player with a real heart for the work that you do. You’ll be open to delivering services differently and being part of the change that is already in play. You’ll love the challenge of a busy role that sees you making a difference. In addition you’ll:
  • Hold a recognised qualification in addiction studies and be a registered practitioner under HPCAA (2003), Social Worker Registration and / or DAPAANZ. Relevant Post Grad qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Have extensive mental health experience working with children and youth and knowledge and experience of addictions service delivery
  • Be trained and experienced in different therapies and modalities (ie: CBT/DBT, motivational interviewing, psycho-social approaches)
  • Be passionate and dedicated to working in collaboration and partnership
