What to expect in the role:

This position is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the advocacy services, responding to adult and child victims of family violence.
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to staff ensuring that services maintain excellent standards, follow process and procedure and produce measurable differences in outcomes for their clients.
  • Promote a united approach as a member of the leadership
    team and contribute to the overall management, development
    and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with other service teams to achieve joint
    objectives.
  • Manage the contracts for provision of advocacy services, ensuring
    that contracted outputs and outcomes are achieved to a high
    standard.
  • Work with direct reports to ensure that services operate in an
    efficient and integrated manner, with good systems for data
    collection, monitoring and reporting.
  • Foster a strong sense of team pride and mutual support across all
    service areas.
  • Identify service improvement opportunities and respond to
    complaints.
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships
    with key stakeholders, government agencies and community groups
    to exchange information, resolve problems, achieve joint goals, or
    improve systems (operational)
  • Provide line management to identified direct reports.
  • Works in a way that is respectful of Maori values, protocols and
    practices.
 
Do you have what it takes?
  • Qualified registered professional, in one Social Work, Psychology or Counselling preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum three years people leadership and management
    experience.
  • Experience working in the family violence sector preferred but not
    essential.
  • Ability to develop effective and collaborative teams.
  • Ability to operationalise and monitor policies, processes and practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working
    relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • High levels of written and verbal communication skills.
