Royston Hospital is a busy private hospital offering a variety of surgical procedures to the Hawke’s Bay community. It has five theatres with two more being commissioned and expansion of day surgery and PACU underway. About the role

After a long tenure, the departing Theatre Services Manager leaves the theatre and relationships in a strong position for you to add further value to. This is a full time clinical leadership role that will have you proactively lead the perioperative team and effectively manage resources whilst providing, driving and developing high quality theatre services.

You will report to the General Manager and be expected to:
  • Lead, empower, coach and mentor the perioperative team including 4 Team Leaders / Coordinators (Theatre, PACU, CSSD, Anaesthetic Tech)
  • Drive theatre utilisation and efficiencies. This will include influencing and managing performance of staff, working positively and closely with specialists, maximum and fiscally responsible utilisation of resources and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Ensure a positive and safe working environment for staff and patients
About you

This position will suit an experienced and credible Clinical Leader with significant expertise and experience in coaching, guiding, mentoring, leading and managing diverse teams within a perioperative environment. You’ll be a Registered Nurse with a current APC as well as:
  • Strong people management, collaboration, relationship and communication skills.
  • A can do attitude - you are able to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies, improve and innovate
  • You’ll be calm, approachable, solutions focused, process oriented yet flexible
  • Patient centric and values driven you have a passion for delivering high standards of best practise quality care and service
  • Orthopaedic and Private Hospital experience is advantageous.
