About the Organisation

About the role
This is a Clinical leadership role, responsible for oversight and integration of specialist community assessment and rehab services within a geographical region (Wellington, Wairarapa and Manawatu). You’ll report to, and be well supported by, the National Clinical Manager - Wellness & Rehabilitation Service. You will be part of a well coordinated and collaborative leadership team and your responsibilities will include:
  • Leadership of a team of community based clinicians including performance management, acknowledgement of achievements, attraction and retention, workforce capacity and capability
  • Providing clinical oversight, insights and advice to ensure excellent service and optimum outcomes. This will include you undertaking clinical work yourself to meet contract requirements, support your clinical competence as well as mentor your team
  • Monitoring and maintaining contracts. This includes compliance, delivering to expectations and developing relationships with funders, clinicians and community organisations.
About you
  • This will suit an established Allied Health Clinician with extensive clinical experience (Ideally a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) looking to step into a leadership opportunity, or an existing and experienced leader looking to to lead in a more autonomous way - you will be involved in decision making and able to influence.
  • You will have strong clinical practise, comfortable to hold your own small caseload and know what quality clinical care looks like - you can role model it and mentor others to provide. You have exposure to quality systems, complaints and incident management.
  • Familiarity with NZ funding systems and contracts is required (ie: social rehab, housing modifications, TI, TBI, sensitive claims etc..) and an understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Maori and Pacific models of health.
  • You will be a confident, responsive and proactive person with emotional intelligence and high standards for yourself and others.
  • An excellent communicator, you’ll establish great relationships with colleagues, clients, funders and produce quality reports
