About the Organisation
Our well established client based in Christchurch are a specialist provider of high quality community based assessment and intervention services for adolescents and adults who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and for children with concerning sexual behaviours. With an excellent reputation, they are preferred suppliers for four large government stakeholders and are expanding and developing new services.

About the Job
Working as a Clinician within the Childrens team you’ll be based in modern new offices working alongside a professional team delivering high quality services. You will work with children displaying concerning sexualised behaviour, and their parents. You'll take a trauma informed rather than a behaviour management approach. You'll also engage in play therapy. On occasion there may be group work. You will work with the wider MDT and other community and statutory agencies.

Ideally this will be full time, however we will consider reduced hours.

Skills & Experience

You will hold a qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Social Work or equivalent. You’ll be registered, or close to. In addition you will have:
  • Proven therapeutic experience and skills in clinical work with adolescents and/or play-based work with children
  • Experience in working with families in stressful situations
  • A continuous learning approach and a desire to further develop specialist knowledge and skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and work professionally alongside other social service agencies and schools
  • Some experience of working with issues related to trauma and attachment is preferable
