Youth Worker - Relocate to Australia

Youth Worker – Australia Flights + three months’ accommodation | Permanent, full-time | Mount Isa, Queensland

Make a difference and give yourself room to get ahead. You put your energy into helping others build a better future. Could it be time to make a move for your own?
If the cost of living is making it harder to get ahead, this could be an opportunity to reset. With flights and your first three months’ accommodation provided, you can take your youth work experience to Australia with support to get established.

Exclusive to RWR Health , we’re partnering with Red Centre Support Services to recruit full-time Youth Workers for residential care services in Mount Isa.

Meaningful work. A fresh start. You’ll support young people who need safety, stability and adults they can trust. Through everyday routines, shared activities and consistent encouragement, you’ll help them develop life skills, strengthen relationships and work towards their goals.
This is hands-on residential care. Some days will be challenging, and your ability to stay calm, maintain boundaries and respond thoughtfully will matter just as much as your enthusiasm.
Your work will include:

  • Building trusting relationships and providing consistent, trauma-informed support.
  • Supporting daily routines, activities and individual care plans.
  • Helping young people develop independence, confidence and community connections.
  • Responding to risks and incidents, with accurate case notes and reporting.
  • Working alongside colleagues and other services to support each young person’s wellbeing.

Bring your skills with you We’re keen to hear from people with experience supporting young people in residential care, community services, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, youth justice or related settings .
Relevant qualifications may include Youth Work, Community Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Counselling or Psychology . The qualification level and content matter, and we’ll help clarify whether your training meets the requirements. New Zealand qualifications will need to be assessed for recognition.

You’ll also need:

  • An understanding of trauma-informed care, child safety and professional boundaries.
  • The confidence to manage challenging situations with empathy and sound judgement.
  • A current, valid driver’s licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these before starting.
  • The ability to meet Queensland’s Blue Card, screening and mandatory training requirements.
  • Australian work rights and a willingness to relocate for at least 12 months .

The service operates around the clock, so flexibility across days, evenings, overnight shifts, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays is essential.
What’s on offer?

  • Excellent remuneration (based on experience and qaulifications)
  • Flights to support your relocation.
  • 3 months accommodation provided , helping reduce your initial living costs.
  • Permanent, full-time employment with meaningful work at its core.
  • An opportunity to bring your existing skills into a new community and build your experience in Australia.

Curious about what this could mean for you? You don’t need to have every detail worked out before getting in touch.
