RWR Health is partnering with Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Māui to recruit a Mental Health Service Lead.

Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Māuiis the region’s single Primary Health Organisation (PHO), covering a population of approximately 170,000. They commission and fund services on behalf of Te Whatu Ora and work alongside primary and community providers to deliver equitable health outcomes. Their mahi focuses on supporting communities, whānau and providers to achieve sustainable health gains, and equitable health outcomes.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi| About the Role

This role will have you provide strong leadership across two significant Mental Health Programmes:
  • Primary Mental Health Initiative (PMHI)
  • Integrated Primary Mental Health and Addiction Service (IPMHAS)
As the Service Lead, Mental Health you will provide expertise, leadership, and direction across these programmes, including the direct line management of both clinical and non-clinical roles. Additionally, you will be key in engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders to effectively coordinate, deliver and evaluate existing and future Mental Health pathways, programmes and services.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

You are an experienced health professional with a strong track record in team leadership and a strategic, systems focused mindset. You might be a psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, Registered Nurse and / or someone with extensive experience in mental health service development.
You bring:
  • Vision to design and implement service models that meet complex community needs. This will include writing business proposals
  • Leadership confidence to support a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and knowledge of the health sector (Primary, NGO and Te Whatu Ora)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A genuine interest in improving health outcomes for Māori and other underserved populations in our community
You will have a sound knowledge of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be an advocate of our Ka Hikitia strategy and ideally you will have competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
