Central Connect Whare Manaaki offers social work support and advocacy and counselling services to the community of Central Hawkes Bay. They are based in Waipukurau and the CHB Food Bank and Heartland Services are part of their organisation.
This role sits within Heartland Services - a community hub model designed to ensure rural communities can access services close to home. Heartlands are at the heart of their communities, providing a place where people can be supported by connecting with Government and non-governments services Kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face). It's all about gaining local knowledge and understanding the needs of the community.
About the job
This is a unique opportunity to be the face and heartbeat of a busy community hub. As the Heartland Services Coordinator, you'll be based at reception and will be the face of the organisation - the first point of contact for people accessing support, as well as the key person ensuring the hub runs smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and supporting clients, visitors, and service providers
- Managing bookings across multiple meeting rooms
- Coordinating a shared space used by a wide range of organisations
- Handling enquiries with care and professionalism
- Capturing data and supporting reporting requirements
- Building relationships with local agencies and community groups
- Supporting events, networking initiatives and community engagement
- Acting as Health & Safety warden for the organisation.

You will:

- Have strong organisation, coordination and networking skills
- Be confident with technology, with an eye for improving systems
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Maintain strict confidentiality in a small community setting
- Hold a NZ drivers licence
- Hold a First Aid Certificate (if not, we can arrange training)

- Approximately 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
