About The role:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, treatment and ongoing clinical oversight.
- Support pre-admission screening for complex medical histories, medicines and allergies.
- Administer medications safely; liaise with GPs, psychiatrists, pharmacists and other specialists.
- Coordinate external appointments across hospital and community health services.
- Lead infection-prevention and control practices aligned to current standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation: care plans, progress notes, referrals.
- Manage medical supplies and stock levels.
- Coach staff in safe medication administration and competencies.
- Contribute to MDT meetings, care planning and continuous improvement.
- Registered Nurse (NZNC) with current Annual Practising Certificate and 3+ years’ nursing experience.
- Background in Mental Health & Addictions / AOD or strong interest to develop in this area.
- Confident working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team; sound clinical judgement.
- Full, valid NZ driver licence; strong admin/documentation and MS Office skills.
- Genuine commitment to te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, a whānau-centred approach, and applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice.
- Professional integrity, clear boundaries, excellent communication and relationship skills; adaptable and collaborative.
