About RWR Health & Medical Administration
At RWR Health, we connect exceptional healthcare professionals with Primary Care organisations where they can feel supported, develop their skills and make a genuine difference to their communities.
We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Administrator to join an established, community-focused General Practice in South Auckland.
This is an opportunity to step into a varied position that goes beyond traditional medical reception. You'll support the smooth running of the practice, assist the clinical team with essential administrative processes and help ensure patients receive a welcoming, professional and culturally responsive experience.
If you're organised, proactive and passionate about helping people navigate their healthcare journey, this could be an excellent next step.
Why This Role Stands Out
- More than reception: A varied role combining patient support, clinical administration and practice coordination
- Make a genuine difference: Support accessible healthcare within a diverse Māori and Pasifika community
- Be part of a collaborative team: Work alongside GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Practice Manager, GPs and nursing team, you'll help keep the practice running efficiently while ensuring patients feel welcomed, informed and well supported.
You'll contribute across a range of clinical and administrative processes, from managing patient recalls and supporting repeat prescription workflows to maintaining accurate records, assisting with reporting and providing reception cover when required.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting the details right and understands how effective administration contributes to quality healthcare.
You'll be trusted to follow established processes, communicate clearly and know when to seek guidance from the clinical team.
Your Role Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and visitors and supporting a positive reception experience
- Managing appointments, telephone enquiries and accurate message-taking
- Maintaining patient information and updating records within the practice management system
- Supporting patient recalls, reminders and referral processes
- Assisting nursing staff with inbox management and clinical administration under their direction
- Supporting repeat prescription workflows in accordance with practice procedures
- Assisting with immunisation reporting, including National Immunisation Register reporting
- Helping with patient billing, payments, eligible subsidies and claims processing
- Supporting clinical reporting requirements and relevant health initiatives
- Monitoring practice supplies and assisting with stock and equipment checks
- Maintaining accurate documentation and handling confidential patient information appropriately
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to support efficient patient flow and day-to-day operations
You'll work within clearly defined processes and under the direction of the appropriate clinical or practice management staff, with opportunities to contribute across different areas of the practice.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong administration skills with a genuine interest in healthcare and patient service.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in medical administration, General Practice reception or a healthcare setting | Medtech experience is essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence managing appointments, phone calls, enquiries and competing priorities
- Good computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A professional, friendly and patient-focused approach
- The ability to follow established processes and maintain confidentiality
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the practice
- Initiative, reliability and the confidence to ask questions when guidance is needed
- A commitment to culturally responsive care and respect for the diverse needs of patients and whānau
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands that the little things matter — from making a patient feel welcome to ensuring important information reaches the right person at the right time.
Your New Environment
You'll be joining an established General Practice with approximately 2,600 enrolled patients and a strong connection to its local South Auckland community.
The practice provides comprehensive Primary Care and values quality, professional standards and a welcoming, supportive approach to patient care.
With a significant Māori and Pasifika patient population, cultural awareness, respectful communication and an understanding of patients' individual needs are important parts of the environment.
You'll work alongside a friendly team of doctors, nurses and administration staff, all contributing to the delivery of quality healthcare for patients and their whānau.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
If you're looking to build on your medical administration experience, this role offers variety beyond the front desk.
You'll gain exposure to the administrative processes that support clinical services, work closely with healthcare professionals and develop a broader understanding of how a General Practice operates.
It's an opportunity to bring your organisational strengths into a role where your contribution supports both the team and the wider community.
