HR Advisor

Great HR isn't just about policies. It's about people.

If you're looking for an HR role where your advice genuinely influences leaders, supports communities and helps create positive change, we'd love to hear from you.

RWR Health is proud to be partnering with one of Hawke's Bay's largest Kaupapa Māori organisations to recruit two HR Advisors . These newly available opportunities offer the chance to join a passionate People & Performance team supporting services that make a real difference to whānau every day.

Whether your passion lies in healthcare, mental health and addiction services, or the wider social services sector, there's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships while developing your career in a supportive, values-led environment.

About the Roles

These are true generalist HR positions where no two days are the same.
Working closely with managers across your allocated portfolio, you'll provide practical advice and coaching across the full employee lifecycle, including:
  • Recruitment and onboarding
  • Employment relations and performance management
  • Manager coaching and capability development
  • Policy implementation and continuous improvement
  • Workforce planning and organisational initiatives
  • Supporting positive workplace culture and engagement
One Advisor will partner with the Health, Mental Health & Addiction Services portfolio, while the second will support the Social Services portfolio.
You'll have plenty of variety, autonomy and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor to your leaders.

About You

You may already be an experienced HR Advisor, or perhaps you're ready to take the next step from an HR Coordinator or HR Administrator role where you've been exposed to advisory work.

Most importantly, you'll bring sound HR fundamentals, excellent relationship-building skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.

You'll ideally offer around 3-5 years' HR experience within a generalist environment, confidence supporting recruitment, employee relations and people processes, strong communication skills, knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, attention to detail, a collaborative, approachable and solutions-focused style and an appreciation for Kaupapa Māori values and a willingness to work within a culturally grounded organisation.

Experience within health, community or social services would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Why You'll Love It

This is an organisation where people come first - both the whānau they serve and the people who work there. You'll enjoy:
  • Salary of $85,000-$95,000
  • Genuine mentoring and career development
  • A supportive, collaborative HR team
  • Meaningful work that positively impacts local communities
  • Life insurance, Health insurance, 5 weeks annual leave, Workplace wellness programme and development opportunities.
If you're looking for an HR role with heart - where your work extends beyond the office and into the lives of others - we'd love to hear from you.
