General Practitioner

About RWR Health & General Practice
At RWR Health, we connect exceptional healthcare professionals with organisations that genuinely align with their career goals, values and lifestyle.
We take the time to understand what you're looking for and connect you with opportunities where you can develop professionally, feel supported and make a meaningful difference to the communities you serve.

We are currently looking to connect with a GPEP3 Registrar or Fellowed General Practitioner interested in joining an established, community-focused Primary Care practice in South Auckland.

What makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the flexibility around how you shape your contribution. Whether your passion lies firmly in clinical practice and delivering excellent patient care, or you're looking to continue developing your leadership experience, there is room to explore both directions.

The Opportunity
You'll be joining an established General Practice serving a predominantly Māori and Pasifika community, working alongside an experienced team of GPs and a wider multidisciplinary healthcare team.

We recognise that not every GP wants the same thing from their career. Some are happiest focusing on their patients, developing strong clinical relationships and contributing through the quality of care they deliver. Others enjoy having a broader influence, supporting colleagues, sharing their experience and helping shape the future direction of a practice.

This opportunity can accommodate either approach.

Two Potential Pathways – One Great Opportunity
1. Clinical Focus | Make Your Impact Through Patient Care
If your preference is to focus on the clinical side of General Practice, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within an established Primary Care environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients and whānau.
  • Work alongside experienced GPs and a supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute your clinical knowledge and experience to the wider practice.
  • Continue developing your own clinical interests and professional goals.

2. Clinical Leadership | Help Shape the Future of the Practice
If leadership is something you enjoy, or an area you'd like to continue developing, there is an opportunity to bring your experience and perspective to the wider practice.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of GPs, helping articulate the practice's clinical direction and future development.

This is not necessarily about stepping into a traditional management position. Instead, you could become a trusted clinical advisor and source of support to the Practice Manager and wider health network.

Your contribution could include:

  • Providing clinical insight and guidance to support the Practice Manager.
  • Working alongside the GP team to identify opportunities for clinical improvement and development.
  • Helping shape the practice's future direction, standards and approach to patient care.
  • Supporting collaboration across the wider healthcare network.
  • Bringing your own leadership style, experience and clinical perspective to the team.

Importantly, the level of leadership involvement is something we would look to shape around your interests, experience and aspirations.

Your New Environment
The practice is part of a wider New Zealand healthcare organisation, providing access to a broader network of knowledge, experience and support.

However, what makes this structure appealing is that each clinic retains its own identity, personality and reputation. The direction of the practice is shaped by the people within it and the community it serves.

Rather than a centralised office dictating every change or setting a one-size-fits-all approach across the network, there is an emphasis on local ownership of the practice's identity, clinical approach and progression.

You'll be joining an organisation driven by patient outcomes and a genuine reflection of the communities its clinics serve.

Within this particular practice, you'll find an experienced GP team, a strong community focus and an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of an established service.

About You
We're interested in connecting with a GPEP3 Registrar or Fellowed General Practitioner who is passionate about delivering quality Primary Care and wants to be part of a supportive, collaborative team.

You'll ideally bring:

  • GPEP3 training or Fellowship with the RNZCGP.
  • Eligibility for registration and a current practising certificate in New Zealand.
  • A genuine passion for General Practice and patient-centred care.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
  • An appreciation for culturally responsive healthcare and the needs of Māori and Pasifika communities.
  • An interest in contributing to the ongoing development of the practice, whether clinically or through leadership.
  • Also, for those looking for a blend of on-site and virtual settings to support your preferred way of working, all of this is possible within this organisation.

For those interested in the leadership pathway, previous experience supporting colleagues, contributing to clinical direction or working in a leadership capacity would be advantageous.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution and sees value in being part of a practice where their voice, experience and approach can genuinely make a difference.

Your Next Step
Whether you're a GPEP3 looking to establish yourself in an established Primary Care environment, a Fellow wanting to focus on clinical practice, or someone ready to explore a broader leadership contribution, this is an opportunity worth a conversation.

The direction isn't predetermined. We'd like to understand what you're looking for and explore how the role could align with your strengths, interests and longer-term career goals.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in exploring, I'd love to hear from you.

Not quite right for you?
