General Practitioner - GPEP 1 & 2 or Fellow considered

About the organisation

Our client is an established New Zealand owned primary healthcare provider with practices across the country. It holds Trust status so profits go back into its clinics, people and services, rather than a return to shareholders. Local leaders have the flexibility to respond to their communities.

These two Wellington region practices combine the support of a national organisation with the relationships and familiarity of a local team. Experienced clinical, nursing and administration leaders work together to support patient care and the day-to-day running of each practice.

About the job and you

Join a permanent general practice role in Wellington CBD or Lower Hutt, with the option to work across both locations.

The Wellington CBD practice has approximately 3,000 enrolled patients and a generally well population. The Lower Hutt practice supports approximately 7,000-7,500 patients, including a significant high-needs population, offering varied clinical work and meaningful continuity of care.

You will provide broad general practice care, build relationships with patients and contribute to a collaborative clinical team. Sessions allow approximately three hours of patient-facing appointments and one hour of administration, with flexibility around appointment structure.

We are interested in GPs who bring:

  • Broad general practice experience and a patient-centred approach.
  • Confidence managing varied presentations across the lifespan.
  • A collaborative style and willingness to contribute to the wider team.
  • An interest in building long-term relationships within the community.

Fellowship is welcomed, although GPs who require supervision are also encouraged to enquire. An experienced Fellow and Clinical Lead provides mentoring and support across both practices.

Benefits of working here

  • Rates from $125 per hour.
  • Part-time opportunities of approximately 0.6-0.8 FTE.
  • Choice of Wellington CBD, Lower Hutt or work across both practices.
  • Protected administration time within clinical sessions.
  • Accessible clinical leadership and an established operational support team.
  • A car park provided at the Lower Hutt practice.
  • Enjoy Wellington's cafés, coastline, walking tracks and cycling, with time to make the most of them.
