The Opportunity
We are excited to present a General Practitioner opportunity with Ostend Medical, located on the stunning Waiheke Island.
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected, community-focused practice that has thoughtfully designed its model around two key principles:

You’ll be stepping into a clinic where systems, team structure, and patient flow have been carefully built to support you to do your best work—without the usual pressures of traditional general practice.

This practice has intentionally moved away from the traditional walk-in, overcrowded waiting room model—replacing it with a system that is structured, efficient, and clinician-friendly.
Instead, they operate a fully appointment-based model supported by phone triage, meaning:
- No walk-in clinics – your day is structured, predictable, and controlled
- Patients are clinically triaged and booked appropriately, ensuring the right care, at the right time, with the right clinician
- Consults run on time with minimal disruption or backlog
- You can focus on quality over quantity, with more meaningful patient interactions

The Practice
- Approximately 2,600 enrolled patients, with continued and sustainable growth
- Recently reopened to new enrolments, reflecting strong team expansion
- Supported by a highly capable and collaborative MDT, including:
- General Practitioners
- Nurse Practitioners
- Experienced Practice Nurses
- Advanced Care Paramedic
- A well-integrated team model where workload is shared appropriately and efficiently
- Strong focus on delivering diverse, high-quality services tailored to the Waiheke community
- Diagnostic imaging
- Visiting specialists
- Well Child services
- Allied health
- Home and community support services

About You
We are keen to connect with GPs who are:
- Qualified (FRNZCGP, MRCGP, RACGP or equivalent)
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Passionate about community-focused, high-quality primary care
- Comfortable working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team model
- Looking for a role that offers structure, balance, and meaningful patient relationships
