At RWR Health, we connect exceptional healthcare professionals with Primary Care organisations where they can feel supported, develop their skills and make a genuine difference to their communities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join an established, community-focused General Practice in South Auckland.
This is an opportunity for a passionate nurse who enjoys the variety of Primary Care, takes pride in delivering high-quality nursing care and values being part of a collaborative team. You'll also have the opportunity to share your experience and support the development of a junior nurse within a close-knit nursing team.
Why This Role Stands Out
- 32 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday — enjoy a consistent four-day working week
- Mentor and support whilst contributing to a collaborative team of three nurses
- Make a meaningful difference within a diverse community, with a strong Māori and Pasifika patient population
Working within a busy General Practice, you'll play an important role in supporting patients, GPs and your fellow nursing colleagues.
This position would suit an experienced Practice Nurse who is confident in their clinical abilities, enjoys working autonomously within their scope and understands the importance of accuracy, consistency and following established processes.
You'll contribute to the smooth running of the clinic, provide effective triage support for GPs and patients, and help maintain a positive, organised and patient-focused nursing environment.
Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team — someone willing to share their knowledge, support a junior colleague and remain open to feedback and new ways of working.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality nursing care across a varied Primary Care setting
- Supporting patient triage and assisting GPs with clinical decision-making
- Administering vaccinations and supporting immunisation services
- Performing cervical screening, or developing this skill with support if not already certified
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and following practice protocols
- Supporting effective patient flow and efficient day-to-day clinic operations
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring a junior nurse within the team
- Working collaboratively with doctors, nurses and administration staff
- Building positive relationships with patients and their whānau
We're looking for more than clinical experience alone. Personality, teamwork and a genuine passion for Primary Care will be just as important.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within General Practice
- A current vaccinator qualification — this is essential
- Cervical screening (smear-taking) certification, or a willingness to learn
- Strong clinical assessment, triage and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation
- The confidence to share your experience and support a junior colleague
- A flexible, team-focused approach and willingness to receive feedback
- The ability to follow established processes while adapting to the needs of the clinic
- A compassionate, culturally responsive approach to patient care
Your New Environment
You'll be joining an established General Practice with approximately 2,600 enrolled patients and a strong connection to its local community.
With a significant Māori and Pasifika patient population, the practice values accessible, comprehensive healthcare delivered through caring relationships and a commitment to professional standards.
You'll work alongside a friendly team of doctors, nurses and administration staff who contribute to the delivery of quality Primary Care.

This role offers a consistent working pattern designed to provide structure throughout your week.
- Hours: 32 hours per week
- Days: Tuesday to Friday
- Working hours: 8:30am–5:00pm
- Patient break: 12:30pm–2:00pm, allowing time for lunch and administration
