We are seeking a Clinical Service Lead to provide clinical leadership, guidance and oversight across services throughout Northland, Auckland, Waikato and Tauranga.
You'll be a senior clinical resource for experienced clinicians providing case consultation, reviewing clinical practice, supporting complex decision-making and helping develop the quality and consistency of the Adult Services programme.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Clinical Director, you'll provide clinical leadership across a geographically dispersed team while remaining connected to practice yourself.
A significant part of your role will involve supporting clinicians with their clinical work. You'll hold regular monthly one-to-one meetings, review caseloads, provide guidance around complex presentations and risk, and ensure assessment and intervention approaches remain clinically robust.
You'll also have an opportunity to influence the ongoing development of the Adult Services programme, clinical frameworks and ways of working.
The position description places approximately 60% of the role's focus on clinical leadership, with a further 20% dedicated to clinical work, alongside learning and development and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll be doing
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance across Adult Services in Northland, Auckland, Waikato and Tauranga
- Holding monthly clinical 1:1s with clinicians, including reviewing caseloads and providing case consultation
- Providing specialist guidance on complex presentations, risk, assessment and intervention
- Reviewing and approving assessment and intervention reports to support consistently high standards of practice
- Supporting the effective triage of new referrals
- Providing clinical direction around complex cases, ethical considerations and client risk
- Supporting clinicians working with specialist populations, including clients with intellectual disabilities and women
- Contributing to the development and refinement of Safe Network's Adult Services programme
- Supporting clinical onboarding, capability development and training
- Contributing to clinical policies, programmes and best-practice frameworks
- Maintaining a level of hands-on clinical practice, including assessment and therapeutic intervention
- Building collaborative relationships with referrers, agencies and other sector stakeholders
- Travelling across the Northern Region as required
What we're looking for
We're particularly interested in hearing from experienced psychologists who have worked within harmful sexual behaviour services or forensic environments.
You'll need to be comfortable with some of the more complex presentations encountered within Adult Services and bring well-developed expertise across assessment, risk and therapeutic intervention.
You'll ideally bring:
- Full registration as a Psychologist with NZPB
- Relevant clinical experience
- Strong experience delivering clinical assessments within harmful sexual behaviour or forensic settings
- Expertise across harmful sexual behaviour assessment and intervention
- Experience with systemic interventions and group work
- Strong risk assessment, formulation and clinical decision-making capability
- Previous clinical leadership experience
- Confidence providing consultation, feedback and guidance to experienced clinicians
- The ability to review complex clinical information and provide clear direction
- Strong written skills and experience producing or reviewing high-quality clinical reports
- An ability to build credibility and effective working relationships across geographically dispersed services
- A collaborative, thoughtful and culturally responsive approach to practice
- Flexibility to undertake some regional travel
