ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you a registered mental health clinician who is naturally drawn to improving how services work, not just delivering them?
RWR Health is seeking a Clinical Quality & Project Specialist for Youthline, a respected national youth mental health and wellbeing organisation based in Auckland Central.
This is a varied, hands-on position sitting between clinical practice, quality improvement and project delivery. You will review clinical practice, identify opportunities for improvement and help turn those insights into stronger policies, training, systems and services.
You will work closely with Helpline leadership, service managers, clinical teams and the wider Quality Improvement Team to support safe, consistent and evidence-informed care for rangatahi and other clients.
Unlike a purely administrative quality role, this position retains a connection to frontline service delivery. You will contribute to case management, clinical guidance and the nationwide 24/7 Helpline, including supporting occasional coverage requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Reviewing and monitoring clinical practice against policy, procedure and best-practice standards
- Identifying quality, training and service-development opportunities
- Supporting clinical quality monitoring and governance processes
- Helping services remain audit-ready through accurate and timely quality controls
- Contributing to clinical incident reviews and improvement recommendations
- Supporting the development and review of policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
- Leading and supporting quality-improvement projects from design through to implementation and evaluation
- Driving service innovation across Helpline, therapy and youth-development services
- Contributing clinical expertise to workforce training and development
- Supporting reflective practice, clinical debriefing and Helpline meetings
- Contributing to case management and clear, person-centred care planning
- Maintaining accurate clinical and quality information across client-management systems
- Supporting the nationwide Helpline when required
You will be an experienced, fully registered clinician who combines sound clinical judgement with curiosity about how services can be made safer, more consistent and more effective.
You will bring:
- Proven mental health experience, ideally involving young people and whānau
- Demonstrated quality-improvement or service-development experience
- The ability to translate research and evidence into practical clinical improvements
- Confidence identifying and prioritising clinical risk
- The ability to make timely, sound decisions using best-practice clinical standards
- Experience engaging clients, families, whānau and community stakeholders
- Strong reflective practice and a calm, non-judgemental approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence managing competing priorities in a responsive service environment
- The ability to lead, coach, provide feedback and support workforce development
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
- Telehealth, Helpline or crisis-service experience would be advantageous
To be considered, you must hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and be fully registered in New Zealand as one of the following:
- A health practitioner registered under the HPCA Act, such as a nurse, psychologist, psychotherapist or occupational therapist etc.
- A registered alcohol and drug or gambling practitioner with DAPAANZ
- A fully registered social worker
- A counsellor fully registered with NZAC
