The Opportunity
Step into a senior clinical leadership role (32 hrs per week) where your expertise will directly influence patient outcomes, support nursing excellence, and provide critical after-hours leadership across a modern private hospital environment.
As a Clinical Nurse Advisor, you’ll combine advanced clinical practice with operational oversight — supporting deteriorating patients, leading emergency responses, mentoring nursing teams, and ensuring safe hospital operations during after-hours and weekend shifts.
This highly autonomous role is ideal for experienced senior nurses who thrive in fast-paced acute care environments and enjoy combining hands-on clinical expertise with leadership, coaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical nursing support across hospital services
- Respond to acute and deteriorating patient presentations
- Support and guide nursing teams during complex clinical situations
- Provide after-hours operational leadership across hospital sites
- Coordinate emergency responses and escalation processes
- Mentor, coach, and support junior nursing staff
- Collaborate closely with medical specialists and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to quality improvement, education, and clinical excellence initiatives
- Support safe staffing coordination and operational flow
- Lead with professionalism, calmness, and strong clinical judgement

Earn up to $81.23 per hour on night shifts
Earn up to $97.47 per hour on weekends

About You
You are an experienced senior nurse who enjoys combining advanced clinical expertise with leadership and operational responsibility.
You will bring:
- Current Annual Practising Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Minimum 5 years recent acute clinical experience
- Strong leadership and decision-making capability
- Advanced assessment and deteriorating patient management skills
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Postgraduate study in advanced clinical practice (completed or in progress)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working autonomously in high-pressure situations
- A collaborative and patient-centred leadership\
