The Opportunity
Step into a senior clinical leadership role (32 hrs per week) where your expertise will directly influence patient outcomes, support nursing excellence, and provide critical after-hours leadership across a modern private hospital environment.

As a Clinical Nurse Advisor, you’ll combine advanced clinical practice with operational oversight — supporting deteriorating patients, leading emergency responses, mentoring nursing teams, and ensuring safe hospital operations during after-hours and weekend shifts.

This highly autonomous role is ideal for experienced senior nurses who thrive in fast-paced acute care environments and enjoy combining hands-on clinical expertise with leadership, coaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical nursing support across hospital services
  • Respond to acute and deteriorating patient presentations
  • Support and guide nursing teams during complex clinical situations
  • Provide after-hours operational leadership across hospital sites
  • Coordinate emergency responses and escalation processes
  • Mentor, coach, and support junior nursing staff
  • Collaborate closely with medical specialists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to quality improvement, education, and clinical excellence initiatives
  • Support safe staffing coordination and operational flow
  • Lead with professionalism, calmness, and strong clinical judgement

Earn up to $81.23 per hour on night shifts
Earn up to $97.47 per hour on weekends
Earn up to $129.96 per hour for weekend overtime shifts

About You
You are an experienced senior nurse who enjoys combining advanced clinical expertise with leadership and operational responsibility.

You will bring:
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Minimum 5 years recent acute clinical experience
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capability
  • Advanced assessment and deteriorating patient management skills
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Postgraduate study in advanced clinical practice (completed or in progress)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working autonomously in high-pressure situations
  • A collaborative and patient-centred leadership\
