ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
RWR Health is partnering with Youthline, a highly regarded national youth mental health and wellbeing organisation to appoint an experienced Clinical Improvement Lead.
This is an influential, organisation-wide position for a senior registered clinician who wants to shape clinical quality beyond an individual caseload. You will strengthen clinical governance, lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide trusted clinical advice across service delivery, organisational projects and strategic decision-making.
Working alongside executive leaders, service managers and clinical teams, you will help ensure clinical services remain safe, evidence-informed, responsive and aligned with professional standards.
With no direct reports. Its influence comes through clinical credibility, collaboration and the ability to turn governance and quality frameworks into meaningful improvements in practice.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Leading the implementation, monitoring and ongoing development of the Clinical Governance Framework
- Supporting or leading the Clinical Governance and Quality Committees
- Reviewing clinical systems, processes and services to identify risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Developing and implementing practical quality and service-improvement initiatives
- Providing senior clinical advice for complex, critical and high-risk situations
- Strengthening clinical risk-assessment, escalation and incident-management processes
- Advising on policy development, service design, funding applications and strategic projects
- Monitoring clinical quality data, emerging risks, trends and improvement outcomes
- Facilitating clinical meetings, reflective practice and professional-development activities
- Developing training and resources across clinical governance, risk, quality and best practice
- Building engagement with clinical governance and continuous improvement across the organisation
You will be a credible and experienced clinician who can work comfortably across frontline practice, governance and organisational strategy. You will bring sound judgement, strong facilitation skills and the ability to influence people outside formal reporting lines.
You will ideally offer:
- Significant clinical experience, including exposure to complex or high-risk environments
- Experience in clinical governance, clinical quality, risk or continuous improvement
- Experience developing, implementing or reviewing clinical frameworks and service-improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership, facilitation and project-management capability
- Confidence supporting complex clinical decisions and escalation processes
- Strong knowledge of clinical, ethical, legislative and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to contribute to policies, reports, funding applications and strategic initiatives
- A collaborative, analytical and solutions-focused approach
- Experience within youth, community, mental health or telehealth services would be highly valued
- Knowledge and experience supporting Māori, Pacific, Rainbow, Asian and other priority communities would be advantageous
You must hold a relevant tertiary clinical qualification and be fully registered with a recognised New Zealand professional or membership body under the HCPA Act such as SWRB, NZAC, NZNO, NZCCA, DAPAANZ or NZAP etc.
