An exciting leadership opportunity has opened with a leading Private Hospital in Central Auckland for an experienced perioperative Nurse ready to step into a Charge Nurse Manager role leading the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and Day Surgery Unit (DSU).
This role combines clinical leadership, operational management, and team development, ensuring safe, high-quality care for patients across the perioperative journey.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of PACU and DSU while fostering a collaborative culture across nursing teams, surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

About the Role
As Charge Nurse Manager, you will:
• Lead and coordinate the daily operational management of PACU and DSU
• Provide strong clinical leadership and support to nursing teams
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient-centred care
• Manage staffing, rostering and workforce planning
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and best practice standards
• Work closely with the Perioperative Manager and surgical teams
• Support staff development, mentoring and education
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced perioperative Nurse Leader who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment.
You will bring:
• Current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
• Significant perioperative experience, ideally within PACU or Day Surgery
• Previous senior nursing or leadership experience (such as a Charge, Coordinator)
• Strong clinical governance and patient safety focus
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and support nursing teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
