Your New Environment Working within a large-scale private surgical setting, you will lead a team of Anaesthetic Technicians and RNAAs across a busy perioperative service delivering a wide range of complex surgical specialties.
This is a full-time permanent leadership opportunity, predominantly Monday to Friday, where you will work closely alongside Theatre Leadership, Anaesthetists, Surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care delivery.
This role would ideally suit a senior Anaesthetic Technician or experienced RNAA who enjoys balancing strong clinical leadership with operational oversight, workforce planning, and service improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Charge Manager – Anaesthetics
Location : Auckland
Hours : Full-Time Permanent
Salary : Competitive package dependent on experience
As the Charge Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational and clinical leadership of the Anaesthetics service, ensuring the effective utilisation of staffing, resources, and theatre flow while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring Anaesthetic Technicians and RNAAs
- Workforce planning, staffing coordination, and resource management
- Supporting excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience
- Driving quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
- Building strong relationships with Anaesthetists, Surgeons, and key stakeholders
- Supporting ongoing education, development, and succession planning within the team
- Contributing to operational efficiency, budgeting, and service growth
- NZ Registered Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA with current APC
- Extensive perioperative Anaesthetics experience within NZ or Australia
- Proven leadership experience within theatre services
- CORE Advanced certification
- Strong operational awareness and problem-solving ability
- Passion for leading positive, high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Postgraduate leadership or management qualification (advantageous)
