AOD Practitioner

Are you passionate about addiction recovery, harm reduction, and helping people create lasting positive change within their lives?

We are currently recruiting for Addiction Practitioners to join a highly regarded Auckland-based community organisation delivering recovery-focused support services across the region.
These positions offer the opportunity to work within supportive multidisciplinary teams helping clients navigate alcohol and other drug recovery journeys through evidence-based, compassionate, and culturally safe practice.
About the Role Working within community and transitional housing services, you will provide both individual and group addiction interventions while supporting clients to achieve their recovery goals and improve overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities include:
• Alcohol and other drug clinical assessments
• Recovery planning and intervention support
• Individual and group therapy sessions
• Harm reduction and strengths-based practice
• Community engagement and resource coordination
• Building strong therapeutic relationships with clients and whānau
• Supporting culturally responsive and recovery-focused care

This is a highly rewarding role where relationship-building, empathy, and clinical skill all play an important part.

What We Are Looking For

• DAPAANZ registered practitioner with current NZ registration
• Experience working within addiction, AOD, mental health, or community support services
• Knowledge of recovery-focused and harm reduction models
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Full NZ driver licence
