We're partnering with a respected aged care provider in Christchurch to recruit a Registered Nurse to join their experienced clinical team at a modern 144-bed care home. About the Role This purpose-built facility provides Rest Home and Hospital level care, along with a dedicated 16-bed Younger Person with Disabilities (YPD) service.
Working across both the Rest Home and Hospital services, you'll deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care while collaborating with experienced Clinical Managers, fellow Registered Nurses, caregivers, GPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This is a permanent position offering 32–40 hours per week , with a mix of morning, afternoon, and night shifts. The roster offers flexibility where possible to support a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred nursing care.
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, care plans, and documentation.
- Administer medications and monitor residents' health and wellbeing.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to caregivers.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, and allied health professionals.
- Maintain compliance with New Zealand aged care standards and best practice.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and a positive team culture.
- $45–$49 per hour, with salary negotiable for the right candidate.
- Permanent position offering 32–40 hours per week.
- Weekend allowance of $1.25 per hour .
- Night shift allowance of $10 per shift worked .

To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Current New Zealand Registered Nurse registration with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and the legal right to work as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand.
- Either:
- Previous Registered Nurse experience in a New Zealand aged care setting; or
- Overseas Registered Nurse experience, along with previous experience working as a Caregiver in a New Zealand aged care facility.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, resident-focused approach to care.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
