Known for the care their people take for one of New Zealand’s unique and natural resources. This New Zealand iconic Primary Industry brand, seeks to build on their talent resource through the acquisition of a People and Culture Coordinator with exceptional administration and coordination skills.

This organisation is in the sustainable harvesting of a natural marine resource.  They export their products globally, have been established for over 150 years in New Zealand and are listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

Much like the old saying, “if you do the mahi, you will get the rewards”, and the rewards come in a variety of rather special ways.  

The first is that you will gain the opportunity to join an organisation which is in a phase of development, where it is reestablishing its core human resource framework including policies and procedures to bring it up and into the most modern times.  This is not a role where you slip into a set way of thinking or working. You are in the re-creation phase and will get across all areas of human resources, which is possibly the most rewarding aspect of the role.

You will report to the GM of Human Resources.  The GM is one of the most respected and engaging HR leaders in New Zealand.  You are there to support the GM of HR across a range of administrative functions and duties nationally and you must be able to work at a pace and skill level that leaves little to guessing.

Skills you must bring to the role and some points of interest are:
  • Advanced in the use of Excel.  You will create, develop and manipulate historical and future data for easy access
  • Critical thinking and planning, intuitive by nature and able to provide support, solutions and outcomes to a fast paced team and environment
  • The administration and coordination of multiple projects and tasks.  This is the backbone of the role… administration and coordinating. People and procedures.
  • Outstanding  attention to detail, exceptional time management skills,  quick learner, able to prioritise and impeccable communication skills
  • Emotional Intelligence, you just “get it” and can work in an ambiguous environment
  • Fluent with MS Suite particularly Excel, Powerpoint and Word

You will know what your team wants before they do!

The term “hit the ground running” really comes into play here as there is no time for explaining things a dozen times.  You will have a few good years under your belt post graduation. You are wanting to develop a career in Human Resources, sharp as a tack in administration and coordinating and are looking for a serious opportunity to step into that sector.
