High profile charity supporting families at their greatest time of need. Use your professional communications skills to add depth to this team

We have the privilege to partner with one of New Zealand’s highest profile and most trusted charities.  This much loved organisation relies 100% on the generosity of the public as there is no government support.  They are a unique provider of services and support to families and caregivers who have a child requiring medical assistance, often residing in Starship (Auckland) long term.

This organisation is behind some of the best known and most compelling national appeals, fundraising campaigns, sponsorship, events and key stakeholder communications in New Zealand.  

When you hear of this organisation you instantly recognise them, you know their brand and who they support however we aim to take this several steps further…  An audacious goal is to deliver key messages to the public in support of all fundraising and marketing efforts. Engage with the public, build greater awareness and drive interest and ultimately assist the fundraising and marketing team to convert key messages into much needed revenue support.  Save lives and keep families together. Simple really.

As part of the marketing team, your role as communications manager is:

  • To be the creator and guardian of the charity’s key messages, both internally and externally
  • To nourish and nurture relationships with the regional teams and outside partners
  • Create strategies to build awareness nationally and locally
  • Improve on workflow process and efficiency with internal and external communications
  • Generally improve supporter and member communications
  • Offer fresh new and relevant insights to the wider team
  • Be a platform for ideas and professional support for the senior leadership team and your team
  • Create and deliver a communication strategy in conjunction with the marketing manager and team
  • Provide outstanding copywriting skills (this one is super important)
  • Elicit the very best stories and content for internal and external collateral
  • Be real, be authentic, have courage to speak up or push back
There are no direct reports in this position currently. 

Your personal flair and character is what will make this work.  We are after a professional addition to the team who are made up of marketing specialists including digital, social media, events and of course communications.
